Fun & Frugal Family Activities Friday



Seattle Cherry Blossom & Arts Japanese Festival - Seattle Center; 4/1-4/3; 10:00am to 6:00pm; Free event where you can learn the game GO, play with Japanese toys and participate in a tea ceremony demonstration, and much more.

Frye Museum – Seattle; through Jan. 2012; 11:00am to 5:00pm; Art lovers, did you know the Frye Museum is always free! Even better, they also provide free parking for visitors. Currently that are exhibiting Tête-à-têter, featuring one hundred fifty paintings from the Frye Art Museum’s Founding Collection.

Skagit Valley Tulip Festival - Mount Vernon; 4/1-4/30; If you are looking for a day trip this is a free festival that goes on all month long. Check out their website for a list of daily attractions and events.

Radio Disney Minnie MasqueradeNorthgate; 4/2; 1:00pm to 3:00pm; Stop by and see the new Minnie Masquerade episode before it airs . While you are there you can make a crown or masquerade mask just like in the show. You can also play awesome “Minnie’s Masquerade” themed games with the Road Crew.

The Proctor District Junior Daffodil Parade – Tacoma; 4/2; 10:00am; The Daffodil Festival’s 50th annual Junior Parade features costumes and more.

Free Community Health Fair at NWAAM – Seattle; 4/2; 11:00am to 5:00pm; Free opportunity to get various health screenings. There will also be childrens activities and free entrance to the Northwest African American Museum.

Family Festival Presented By Target At Seattle Asian Art Museum – Seattle; 4/2; 10:00am to 2:00pm; The Seattle Asian Art Museum is free and open to the public on Free First Saturday. This festival is presented in conjunction with the free entrance day and includes puppet shows, free screening of new The Karate Kid, art activities and more.

Family Day At The Wet Science Center – Olympia; 4/2; 10:00am to 4:00pm; Free family activities every Saturday at The Wet Science center. This Saturday’s theme is “Stop the Drip,” with games to learn about water conservation. Kids take home a book cover, stickers, and shower timer.

Get Crafty Saturday At The Bellevue Art Museum- Bellevue; 4/2 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. They will be offering a clay molds craft with special oven bake clay and instructions on how to fire at home. $2 material fee.

Free Story time at Cableas – Lacey; 4/2; The first Saturday of the month kids can participate in outdoor themed stories in the big walled tent! Thanks Sounds Fun Mom!

Life Under Water Nature Program - Bellevue; 4/3; 2:30pm to 3:00pm; Learn about the different animals that live in and around ponds, their survival techniques, and how some have adapted to live under water. Free, all ages welcome.

Around The Market In 80 Minutes – Seattle – Pike Place Market; 4/3; 11:00am to 4:00pm; Free scavenger hunt hosted by the Pike Place Market on Sundays. You get a passport and need to find your way around the market, marking destinations with a sticker. Prizes awarded to winners. All ages welcome

Bank of America Museums on Us Program - April 2nd and 3rd, Bank of America cardholders get FREE admission to over 100 museums nationwide!

Home Depot’s Kids Workshop - Saturday from 9AM-12PM, kids can make a planter/basket. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates’ aprons, and an achievement pin.

Lakeshore Learning Center - Saturday from 11AM-3PM, kids can make a display of friends around the world.

Michaels - Saturday from 10AM-Noon, purchase a 7″ craft egg and kids ages and up can decorate it for free.

Regal Cinemas - coupon good for $1 small popcorn and $1 small soft drink valid through April 3rd.

Target - As part of its efforts to support education in local communities, Target sponsors free or reduced-price admission to arts and cultural events nationwide. Click here and select your city to find events in your area.

Toys R Us - Saturday from Noon-2PM, kids can participate in the Chugginton Celebration and try out the newest talking interactive train plus, enjoy storytime, coloring and FREE giveaways!

Toys R Us - Saturday from 2:30PM-4:30PM, kids can participate in the first ever Ninjago Spinjitzu Training Camp to learn new spinning techniques, battle with friends, and get a FREE giveaway! For participating stores, click here.

Walmart - Check out the Walmart Event Finder (enter your zip code to see what is going on in your area). My Walmart here in North Carolina will be hosting a Propel Zero Enhanced Water Sampling Event, Kraft Philadelphia Cooking Crème Sampling Event, and Unilever Axe Sampling Event.
