Stefanie, I couldn't find an email for you to answer your question about my faux window muntins.
It won't interfere with opening or closing windows, no matter what kind you have. The ones I have pictures are the crank-style ones, but even in ones that you push up and down:
the sash always stick out further than the muntin trim. Even though the trim you buy is 1/2 in thick, it's actually less from factory sanding.
Most window sashes are thick enough so that it won't look odd. I've done it on my old wooden windows, as well as my newer vinyl ones with no problems! I hope this helps!
